Lab Report

Jessica Deans

With Science Week next week, we have lots of important things to announce coming up.

On Monday 12 August, we have Aston Quin, an astrophysicist, coming in to talk to the Year 5 students about all things outer space as they are working on their Solar System Project this term.

On Tuesday 13 August, we have another scientist coming to wow our students, this time in Year 3. Barry Hunt will be demonstrating some science experiments and explaining the magic of it all!

After school on Wednesday and Thursday, four groups of Year 6 students will be getting the chance to show their Think Tank Projects on Species Survival: More Than Just Sustainability. They have been working hard on coming up with some solutions to how we can look after our native species from threats and improve conservation efforts. These will be available for viewing in the Science Room until 5:00pm both nights, with classes being able to have a look on Friday 16 August.

To finish off our Science Week, the Environmental Leaders wanted to do something special, so they have set up a fundraiser for Bush Heritage to help with species survival in Australia. There will be a Bake Sale outside the Science Room at recess, with all items being $2.00. All proceeds will be donated to Bush Heritage, and if you would like to make a donation there is a link to our fundraising page down below.
