From the Principal

Dear Parents, Caregivers, Students and Friends of Endeavour,
This week, our College staff and students gathered for a meaningful and reflective Ash Wednesday Chapel Service, marking the beginning of the Lenten season within the Lutheran Christian tradition. It was a special opportunity for us to pause together, reflect on God’s Word, and consider the journey toward Easter.
During our service, students and staff were invited to receive a blessing, reminding us of God’s grace, mercy and the hope we have in Jesus.
Our Student Executive led the service with reverence and care, grounding us in Scripture. As a College founded in the Lutheran Christian faith, these significant moments in the Church year shape who we are as a community.
They help our young people understand the story of salvation, engage meaningfully with faith, and recognise the assurance we have in Christ’s redeeming love.
It was pleasing to witness the respectful and thoughtful manner in which students participated. Chapel remains central to our shared life at Endeavour, providing space for worship, reflection and connection as we seek to build people of character and faith.
Additionally, I would like to take this moment to acknowledge an exceptional individual sporting achievement. Meika Van has demonstrated extraordinary commitment and excellence in gymnastics. She has been awarded the South Australian Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Athlete of the Year for 2025. Meika is a two-time Australian representative across two gymnastics disciplines: Power Tumbling and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. She competed at the World Age Group Championships in Pamplona, Spain in 2025 and has now been selected to compete in the Level 10 USA Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Tour in 2026.
This exceptional sporting achievement brings me to the introduction of our Sporting Wall of Fame. Endeavour College will now recognise past and present students who have achieved exceptional success at state or national sporting levels.
These students will be honoured on the Wall of Fame, which will be displayed in the Endeavour Centre Foyer for the enduring future of the College.
A student (current or past) may be considered for induction if they have met one or more of the following criteria:
1. State-Level Achievement
A student may be eligible if they have:
- Won a recognised State Championship in their sport as an individual or member of a team, OR
- Represented their state in an officially sanctioned state team or event at the highest age group available to them.
2. National-Level Representation
A student may be eligible if they have:
- Represented Australia (or their recognised national governing body) in an officially sanctioned national team, squad, or event, at either junior or senior level.
Should you or your child satisfy the above criteria, please email lucy.hosking@endeavour.sa.edu.au for consideration.
As always, I am grateful to be leading this wonderful community and thank you for your continued support.
Mr Richard Baird
Principal
