FROM OUR SOCIAL JUSTICE LEADERS

Headstart Opportunity

On the 22nd and 23rd of October our school began the Headstart program. The 2027 Prep students had their first session at the school with their lovely parents. We with the School Captains were given the opportunity to present in front of the parents to tell them a little bit more about the Catholic Identity and Wellbeing of our school.

It was very challenging but fun to present mainly because the activities were super engaging and interactive. Everyone got to know each other a little better before we got started with the expectations and learning programs we have here at Our Lady's, led by Mrs Glouftsis and Mr Iacopino.

800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi

The 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi’s death is a very significant time. Pope Leo XIV declared a global celebration for St. Francis from January 2026 to January 2027 to honour his life. St Francis is very inspiring because he famously loved animals, cared for nature, and chose to live simply to help the poor. The most important part of the anniversary happened in October during the Transitus, which commemorates the night he passed away. People held a large candlelight procession through the streets of Assisi to remember him. This centenary reminds everyone to protect our planet and care for each other.

THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!

2026 SACRAMENTS

Sacrament Celebrations at Our Lady’s Primary School for 2026 have now concluded. 2027 dates will be posted late 2026 for families preparing for their next Sacrament Celebrations.

Families who have baptised children in the Catholic Faith must ensure that baptism certificates were presented during enrolment. If you are unsure, it is better to be safe than to wonder, please bring in a copy of your child’s baptism certificate to be added to their file.

Parents of children in the Chaldean, Maronite, Syrian, Syro Malabar or other Eastern Christian faith are asked to do the same if they would like their child/ren to receive the Sacraments with OLPS in the future.
