Exam period
Year 9 – 11 exams begin on Wednesday, 3 June and conclude on Friday, 12 June. The library will endeavour to accommodate VCE students for private study, but please note there is limited capacity due to regular classes scheduled in the library.
VCE Exams and SACs
With students sitting SACs throughout the year and final VCE exams later in the year, this is a reminder to students and parents that the library has book binding materials for students to prepare their bound references. Enquire at the library desk.
Sun Project CBCA Shadow Judging
The Shadow Judges have met to unpack the first novel, Darkest Night Brightest Star by author Barry Jonsberg. Featuring contemporary ‘coming of age’ and masculinity themes, showcasing the diversity of themes which is a hallmark of CBCA Shortlisted books, this book unfortunately did not resonate with the judging panel. It received a low score of 15.5 against a rating criteria due to the judges deeming the implied readership of this book to be middle grade, rather than ‘older readers’ as it contained ‘censored’ language and clichéd metaphors which ultimately diminished the reader experience.

Book Club
The MGSC Book Club is reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. We will meet during the final week of term two on Wednesday, 24th June to discuss the merits of this book. We will meet during the final week of term two on Wednesday 24 June.
