Principal's Message

Good afternoon all,

As we move into the second last week of Term 2, there is a wonderful sense of achievement and excitement across our school community. Students and staff have been actively engaged in learning, extracurricular opportunities and special events that continue to make Sacred Heart such a vibrant place to learn and grow.

A reminder to families that Semester One Student Reports will be released via PAM on Thursday 25 June. These reports provide an important opportunity to celebrate student growth and achievement while identifying future learning goals. We encourage parents and carers to take the time to discuss the report with their child and acknowledge the efforts they have made throughout the first half of the year.

We are looking forward to the Evening Birds Rock Band Concert this Thursday 18 June at 2.20pm. Our talented musicians have been working hard throughout the term and are excited to showcase their skills and enthusiasm for music. We warmly invite families to join us for what promises to be an entertaining afternoon.

Our Year 5 and 6 students have demonstrated remarkable creativity through their STEAM Punk Sculpture Exhibition The exhibition will be held next Thursday 25th June at 11.45am - 6pm. The exhibition showcases an impressive collection of sculptures that combine artistic flair, imagination and design thinking. Congratulations to all students involved for their innovation and dedication in producing such outstanding pieces of work.

Congratulations to Nikki Tartaglia and Staysia Bourke, who have been selected to represent Sacred Heart at the Lions Interschool Public Speaking Competition next Monday evening. Both students earned their place through our recent internal public speaking competition and should be extremely proud of their efforts. We wish Nikki and Staysia every success as they share their speeches and represent our school community.

On Friday 5 June, staff participated in a full day of professional learning focused on key aspects of our school Wellbeing Framework. A highlight of the day was the launch of Positive Education, which will further strengthen our school-wide Positive Behaviour Framework and complement our existing Respectful Relationships and Classroom Mastery programs.

Staff also reviewed our behaviour curriculum and unpacked the Child Safe Standards within the context of Sacred Heart. The day provided valuable opportunities for professional dialogue, reflection and collaboration as we continue to enhance the learning and wellbeing outcomes for all students. It was a fantastic day of learning and shared commitment to excellence.

The excitement of world football has certainly arrived at Sacred Heart, with students enthusiastically participating in our own school soccer competition. The competition has been expertly led by our Year 5 and 6 students, who have taken on the important role of referees and demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout the tournament.

A special thank you goes to Mrs Cassetta, whose organisation and enthusiasm have been instrumental in the success of the competition. We are delighted to report that 145 of our 241 students have participated, creating a wonderful atmosphere of teamwork, sportsmanship and school spirit.

Please note that students will finish early on Friday 26 June, with dismissal at 2.20pm. We ask families to make appropriate arrangements for collection at this earlier time.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school and the many opportunities that enrich the lives of our students. As we approach the end of the term, I encourage everyone to continue striving to be their best and to take pride in all that has been achieved.

Every blessing,

Carolyn Goode
