Breaksea House News

We are thrilled to welcome back Amy van der Merwe, our Gap Assistant, to Breaksea after she spent two terms in Endeavour. It is a joy to have her back on board with an extra set of hands to support the house.

This fortnight has been full of celebrations! We wished a very happy birthday to Tilly Norrish, Lexie Kershaw and Mariella Somerscales, and also celebrated our wonderful supervisor Axelle Sommier's birthday. Congratulations are also in order for Amy Medway and Emmeline Cunningham, who both achieved the milestone of gaining their driver’s licence, an exciting step towards independence and freedom!

Our Years Ten and Year Eleven boarders recently took part in a First Aid course, adding valuable skills to their toolkit. Meanwhile, Book Week was a colourful highlight, with boarders embracing the fun and turning up in all kinds of creative costumes.

The Year Twelves enjoyed their last recreation activity at Wild West Bowling, competing against the Year Elevens. It was a fantastic evening, even though my bowling was absolutely appalling, which is extra embarrassing given I am a Physical Education teacher!

The Year Tens have been busy with Work Experience, diving into new environments, facing challenges, and stepping outside their comfort zones. It has been wonderful to see their resilience and adaptability shine through.

Big congratulations to Rif McNeil-Hanna who celebrated their Yalari graduation on the east coast recently. We're all very proud of this achievement.

With the end of term fast approaching, assessments are ramping up. A gentle reminder to all boarders:

  • Do your best.
  • Ask for help if you need it.
  • Remember to stay cool, calm, and collected.
  • You’ve got this!
