Eclipse House News

There has been plenty of activity in Eclipse House as Term Three continues to progress. As always, winter sport is in full swing, which means the house tends to be fairly quiet over the weekends. It is always lovely to reconnect with the boys on Sunday or Monday when they return, and to hear all about their weekend adventures and sporting achievements.

The recent closed weekend offered a great opportunity for the boys to head home for a mid-term break. There was plenty of excitement, as many of them relish the chance to be back with family, and for some, back on the farm.

Year Ten Work Experience is now underway in Week Six, with the entire cohort travelling across the state to take part in placements. In Eclipse, Craig Wiech and Riley Jenkins are completing theirs locally, while Matt Cant and Fletcher Patterson have arranged to do theirs outside of Albany. It will be great to hear how they have all gone, especially as Riley and Craig have been thoroughly enjoying their experience so far this term.

It was wonderful to meet Corinthian Calwyn’s mum and nan, who travelled down for the closed weekend, as well as Zane Cairn’s nan. Both boys were thrilled to have their families visit and watch them play football over the weekend, with Zane and Corinthian each scoring several goals.

It has also been great to see some of the boys back out on their bikes between the weather fronts, making the most of the dry spells. Planning for the pump track is still underway, and we are hopeful that some physical progress is not too far off now.

Happy Birthday to Craig Wiech, Henry Smith and Fletcher Patterson in the month of August.  We hope you all had a great birthday.
