Year 7 Social with Mercedes
Our Year 7 students recently enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Year 7 Social with Mercedes College. Partner dancing provided plenty of laughs, while the dance floor was full of energy, enthusiasm and some impressive moves. Most importantly, it was wonderful to see students building new friendships and enjoying such positive interactions throughout the evening. A wonderful celebration of connection and community. Thank you for having us, Mercedes!
Geography Excursion
Our Year 12 ATAR Geography students recently embarked on an excursion, joining peers from Mercedes College to investigate the urban challenges shaping the Perth Metropolitan Area. Focused on key issues such as urban sprawl, housing provision, transportation, and congestion, the excursion provided a hands-on opportunity to explore the complexities of modern city living.
Students visited a variety of sites showcasing urban redevelopment, renewal, and consolidation, gaining firsthand insight into the strategies being implemented to foster a more sustainable and liveable Perth. This practical experience allowed them to critically evaluate the effectiveness of current urban planning initiatives.
The excursion was designed to align with Unit 4: Planning Sustainable Places, enabling students to connect classroom theory with real-world applications. By engaging with these contemporary urban issues, our geography students are better equipped to understand the importance of thoughtful, forward-thinking city planning.

ECU School Of Engineering Visit
Last Term, a group of Year 10 Engineering Studies students had the opportunity to visit the School of Engineering at Edith Cowan University. Students were given a tour of the Motorsport Engineering workshops, from the design and modelling areas, light and heavy fabrication, laser and 3D manufacturing technology.
They were then able to participate in two engineering activities. In the first activity, the boys used computer modelling to test suspension parts for optimal performance, adjusting the components to try and emulate on-track data that had been recorded in testing. These setting were required to ensure the car stays stable and maintains grip in all conditions on the track. They also had the opportunity to use high-resolution 3D scanners to produce digital renderings of physical various physical objects. The renderings include hundreds of thousands of data points to create extremely accurate renderings of the objects, which can then be replicated in 3D modelling software.
During the visit, the boys met some of the ECU Racing Team, which were about to embark on a trip to the UK to compete in an international competition at Silverstone. The team was competing in the hybrid competition, and the car was powered using an internal combustion engine to drive the rear wheels and a large capacity battery which controlled to front end.
Congratulations to the team, who were crowned Overall Champions in their new hybrid car, after winning the award two years ago on their last visit!

Class of 2027 - TCPC Legacy Graduation Pavers

The Class of 2027 (current Year 11s) is invited to be part of the TC Parent Council’s ‘Legacy Graduation Paver’ Fundraiser!
This fundraiser was first launched last year by the TCPC, and saw recent Graduating Classes invited to purchase a paver in the initial run. Now, it's time for the Class of 2027 to get involved. For only $100 per paver, you can leave your mark on the Trinity College grounds, all while raising funds to support the TCPC’s efforts to enhance the buildings, grounds and programs at the school – for all students.

Sales close: 3.00pm, Thursday 24 September
This is the only opportunity for the Class of 2027 to purchase a paver; if you miss the cut-off, you miss out!
- The purchase of a Legacy Graduation Paver is not a tax-deductible donation.
- The pavers will be laid on the walkway outside the Sports Centre/pool area at TC’s East Perth campus. (Laid) pavers from previous Graduating Year Levels can be viewed at this location.
The production of the pavers is being managed by the TC Parent Council, not the TC Uniform Shop. Please direct all paver queries to tcparentcouncil@gmail.com
