Our Spotlight Winners for the Week - Caring for property and belongings!

This week - Behaviour Spotlight

A clean classroom with working equipment makes school better for everyone. Looking after school property shows respect for your peers, teachers, and yourself. Since equipment and facilities are shared, everyone benefits when they are treated with care.

Ways to care for school property:

• Keep desks and learning spaces clean.
• Put all rubbish in the bin.
• Use equipment gently and responsibly.
• Report any accidental damage to a teacher straight away.
• Check your area before leaving class.
• Label personal items so they can be returned if lost.

Taking pride in your school environment helps create a welcoming and positive space for everyone.

100 Days Of Kindy

100 days? Already? Who can believe it? The kindy kids have matured so much and have made a blast, but don’t take my word for it. Here is what some kindy favouring thing is.

Alethea: My favourite thing about Kindy is playing with my friends

Selina: I really love my buddy

Ariella: My favourite thing is to colour

Jack: My favourite thing is playing with balls

Ranveer: My favourite thing is getting taught by my beautiful teacher Mrs Findlay.

Graduate Program

On Wednesday night, there was an informative evening about the graduate program, where we highlighted the exceptional opportunities within our Year 5 and Year 6 program. 

We talked about the many benefits of staying in Holy Family after Year 4, bringing up the topics of affordability, leadership opportunities, the co-educational environment and the preparation for high school. Parents with children from Kindergarten to Year 4 were invited to join to see all the benefits of staying for Year 5 and Year 6. 

Thank you to the four school leaders, Eleanor, Allison, Chris and Carsten, for coming!

If any parent has missed it, there will also be a follow up opportunity on TEAMS in the coming weeks.

Public Speaking: In Full Swing! 

The Holy Family Public Speaking competition is underway, with students enthusiastically preparing and practising their speeches. Through this process, they are building confidence, strengthening communication skills, and learning to engage an audience effectively.

Teachers have been impressed by the creativity, effort, and enthusiasm on display. Public speaking is a valuable opportunity for students to develop critical thinking and presentation skills while confidently sharing their ideas.

We wish all students the very best as they present their speeches over the coming weeks and look forward to celebrating their achievements.

On Tuesday, we embarked on a journey to learn how to ride a bike. On the way through the journey, we sang a few songs that we could create confidence in riding bikes. With Jess, Ben and Jenny they travel back in time to figure out what it feels like to be in the past, but when Jenny forgets everything, Jess and Ben have to help remember what to do. When Jenny gets shown a bike and Ben and Jess say that they are going to ride their bikes over some hills, Jenny gets serious. Though Jenny is scared, the songs that the three play, encourage Jenny to slowly bit by bit ride the bike. Then when the most known song is played, "bicycle" Jenny gains confidence and gets the hang of riding the bike! So, the overall message in the performance is to always have confidence in trying new things.

Responsibility is when you are willing to do what is expected of you, make thoughtful choices, and accept the consequences of your actions. It means being reliable, trustworthy, and accountable for the tasks and goals you have. If you are a responsible person, you complete your work, keep promises, and take ownership of your mistakes instead of blaming others. Responsibility also involves caring for people, belongings, and the environment, while making decisions that have a positive impact on those around you. By showing responsibility, people earn the trust and respect of others and help create a safe, supportive, and successful community. Here’s how you can be responsible!

⭐ When you hurt someone intentionally or by accident, say sorry.

⭐ If you promise your friend about something, keep it!

⭐ If someone says you did something wrong but you didn’t, always stand up for   yourself.
