Year 10 News

Reports and attendance are two areas we focus on and celebrate as a campus, and an area where many of our students are kicking goals! It was very pleasing to see over half of our cohort achieve 3.5 and above in the first of our learning behaviours update. Congratulations to all, an outstanding achievement!

College Athletics Day
Year 10 were well represented at our recent college athletics day. Congratulations to all who participated and represented their house and our team.
Inverloch Relationship Building Day
On Friday 21st February, the Year 10 Kurnai Churchill students travelled to Inverloch for a
relationship building day. It was a day designed to allow students to build connection, communication and collaboration with peers and staff.
As part of the day, students spent the day exploring Inverloch. Students had the option of relaxing on the beach, going into town to do some shopping, playing sporting activities at the Inverloch Recreation Reserve or enjoying the park. Students were provided with lunch, which was very amazing and delightful, oily chips covered in chicken salt with nice cold soft drinks.
The students of 10B all agreed it was "a unique day and helped create memories they will keep until the end of time".
Work Experience
Students are currently busy arranging work experience which will take place in Term 2 from Monday 12th to Friday 23rd May.
Tassie Trip
Information and consent forms for our Year 10 trip to Tasmania will be out within the next couple of weeks. Please be aware that spots are limited and will be done on a first in best dressed basis. The camp/trip is always a highlight for the students and staff and is a great way to create positive memories the high school years. Please keep an eye out for this information.
Expectations and Attendance
With such a busy program and students representing the school in local workplaces across our region, Kurnai College has high expectations of all students’ behaviour in ways which reflect our values. The Year 10 team will continually communicate to the students on the expectations of attendance, behaviours and wearing correct uniform. We appreciate your support on these matters and respectfully remind you of notifying the school if your child is absent and signing out your child from the front office if you collect your child early from school.
