Book Week

Book Week is more than just dressing up as our favourite book character or reminding some of us that we need to read more. It is a powerful reminder of the vital role that reading and literacy play in the lives of young learners. At Trinity, we are proud to foster a culture where books are not just read, but loved, shared, and lived.

Celebrating Book Week promotes literacy by encouraging children to engage with books in fun and interactive ways, helping them develop essential reading and comprehension skills. It also encourages creativity through activities such as character dress-ups, story writing, and book-themed art, allowing students to express themselves and build confidence. Book Week helps build a strong sense of community by bringing together students, teachers, families, and authors in a shared celebration of literature, while also supporting curriculum goals by aligning activities with English, Arts, and Humanities outcomes and enriching classroom learning in meaningful ways.

The 2026 Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories, highlights the idea that every voice, every experience and every perspective contribute to a rich sense of community. Just as different instruments come together to create a harmonious symphony, stories bring together people from diverse backgrounds and experiences, helping us to better understand ourselves and one another. This resonates strongly with the EREA Touchstone of Inclusive Community, which calls us to foster a culture of belonging where every person is valued, respected and encouraged to share their unique gifts. Through reading and storytelling, our boys learn that each story matters, each voice deserves to be heard, and we are stronger when we listen to and learn from one another.

We are delighted by the genuine love of reading shown by our boys. Through classroom engagement, weekly library lessons, and special events like Book Week, we aim to inspire curiosity, imagination, and a deep appreciation for storytelling.

Books help our students make sense of the world, explore new ideas, develop empathy, and connect with others. They are a bridge between home and school, between the past and the future, and between imagination and understanding.

Thank you to all staff, students, and families who helped make Book Week such a success. We appreciate the effort, enthusiasm and support which our community provided their sons to organisea costume and continue fostering a love of learning through literature.

House Athletics Carnival

Over two action-packed and slightly wet days, the Junior School community came together for the annual House Athletics Carnival. This provided a wonderful opportunity for our boys to display their competitive spirit, athleticism, teamwork, resilience, and house pride.

Wednesday saw students participate in the long jump, high jump, triple jump and 800m events. Thursday brought the excitement of throws and track events. 

A huge thank you to Mr. Luke Thompson for all his hard work in the lead up to the carnival, ensuring all boys had an opportunity to compete in a fun and inclusive way. The day would not have been possible without the support from the College’s wonderful grounds and maintenance team, Mrs. Ella Spencer and all the teaching staff who assisted with set up and different roles throughout the day. 

Well done to all boys who competed across the two days. Our gratitude is also extended to the many parents and spectators who were in attendance. Despite the rain, wind and cold conditions you still showed your support for your son. We know the boys appreciate your support greatly.

Wellness Week 

A reminder that the College will celebrate Wellness Week from Monday 31 August to Friday 4 September. Each day of Wellness Week will be themed with various activities and educational experiences planned for students and staff. There will be regular updates throughout the week, so please follow the College's social media posts. The Junior School Wellness Week schedule of events can be found using the following link - 2026 Junior School Wellness Week Schedule. The Sausage Sizzle fundraiser is being run by our Year 11 students with all Junior School purchases needing to be made by pre-order using the order form linked here. All orders and payments are due to your son's class teacher by Tuesday 1 September.

Morning Drop-Off

Mornings can be a whirlwind. Between finding missing shoes, locating that all-important lunch box, and making it to school before the bell, it's easy to feel like you're competing in an Olympic event! Afternoons can be just as busy, with everyone eager to get home after a long day. With this in mind, we'd like to remind all families that student safety remains our highest priority during these peak drop-off and pick-up times. 

To help keep our community safe and traffic flowing smoothly, we ask all families to observe the following: 

• Please adhere to the College speed limit of 10 km/h. It may feel slower than your morning coffee kicks in, but it helps keep everyone safe. 

• Drive carefully through the Main Driveway and the roundabout near the white canopy/umbrella. 

• Do not drop boys off between the roundabout and the Pavilion. This is dangerous and disrupts the flow of traffic. 

• Do not use staff parking bays for drop-off or pick-up. 

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and shared commitment to keeping our students safe. By working together and following the signage and road rules, we can ensure that everyone arrives and departs safely, with far less stress and considerably fewer "Where are my keys?" Moments. 

Please also note that there is no teacher supervision after school at the white canopy/umbrella area. All Junior School students should wait in the designated Junior School area until they are collected.

TC Cafe Orders  

Commencing Monday 24 August, there will be an option to order recess for your son via the Flexischools app. A reminder to parents that our Café now offers the option to pre-order Afternoon Tea through the Flexischools app.  Afternoon Tea includes a muffin and a juice for $8.00 and will be delivered to the Junior School on the afternoon you select. Simply place your order via the Flexischools app before the relevant cut-off time to have Afternoon Tea delivered to your child. 

JS Father's Day Breakfast & Reading Activity

Junior School students and staff look forward to celebrating TC dads/father figures at the upcoming Junior School Father's Day Breakfast event, which will take place on Friday 4 September (Week 3.7). As is tradition, we ask students and dads to wear the colours of their favourite sporting teams on-the-day! This year, our celebration will also continue beyond breakfast and into the classroom, with a reading morning. Details are as followed:

Time: 7.30am - 9.30am 

Venue: Gibney Hall (and JS classrooms) 

Other information:There is no requirement to register in advance for this event. However, due to capacity limits, we can only accommodate one guest per student. Parking has been arranged at Gloucester Park, Gate 7 (entry into the school via TC Gate 6).
