Springtime Reminder: Asthma & Hay Fever

Spring is in the air… and so are the pollens!

From October to December, airborne grass pollens can trigger an increase in asthma and hay fever symptoms.

To help keep our students comfortable and safe at school, please remember:

  • Asthma: If your child has asthma, please ensure they have their reliever medication and spacer in their school bag.
  • Hay fever: If your child is prone to hay fever, please administer their usual medication before school where appropriate. The school does not routinely keep hay fever medication on hand.
  • Medication at school: Parents and carers are welcome to provide hay fever medication for their child to be stored in sick bay. A completed consent form is required, and medication must be supplied in its original packaging.

If your child experiences hay fever symptoms during the school day that cannot be adequately managed, you may be contacted to arrange collection.

For daily pollen counts and forecasts, visit Melbourne Pollen.

Thank you for helping us keep our students healthy and comfortable this spring!
