The Rainbow One
This term we will be hearing about Immanuel - God with us. We will start by hearing about stories from the Old Testament. This week we read from Gensis 6 - 10, the story of Noah and the Ark
Did you know ...
That the water didn't only come from the rain.
Gen 7:11a – "on that day the springs of the great deep burst forth and the floodgates of the heavens were opened and rain fell on the earth."
That there were more that two of some animals.
God told Noah to take 7 of every clean animal, a male and its mate, and 2 of every kind of unclean animal, seven of every kind of bird from throughout the earth.
I wonder ...
How did Noah feel?
Well I don’t know, and the Bible doesn't say … I am sure that he felt a little confused when God told him to build the Ark – but he told him exactly how to do it. It would have taken years and I am sure that he felt all of the different feelings during this time. But God looked after Noah and Noah and his family trusted God!
God is with us …
God was with Noah while he was building the Ark and people were being mean to him.
God was with Noah and his family when they cared for the animals on the Ark.
God was with Noah and his family when they were scared by the rising and falling waters.
God was with Noah and his family when the land started to show.
Just like God was with Noah and his family through all of the hard, interesting, scary and fun times he is also with us.
God is with us as we go through life, may you feel him with you as you go.
Many blessings for the term ahead.
