PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

MRS MICHELLE HAEUSLER - PRINCIPAL

Welcome back to Term 4. I trust everyone had a restful and enjoyable break. Our Year 12 students are approaching the conclusion of their face-to-face secondary education, with only two days remaining. This week, they participated in a couple of dress-up days, and next week will culminate with House farewell events and a water fight on Monday, followed by the End of Year Mass and the Year 12 Final Assembly on Tuesday. Completing this stage of their educational journey can be a joyful occasion, though it may also bring mixed feelings such as nostalgia and apprehension about the future. We extend our best wishes to all our Year 12 students during this final week and encourage them to continue persevering toward their goals.

A reminder to parents, guardians, families and friends that you are invited to attend our End of Year Mass on Tuesday 21st October at 12:30pm at the St Mary’s Church, Splatt Street, Swan Hill.  This is the final Mass for the year where we celebrate as a whole community before our Year 12 students begin a period of study and then exams.  Following the Mass a light lunch is available for Year 12 students, their parents/guardians and staff before the final Year 12 Assembly begins at 2:15pm in the Jubilee Centre.  Our school community will form a guard of honour for our Year 12 students as they walk out to the south grass area and celebrate the end of 13 years of education.

Additionally, I am pleased to announce the appointment of our 2026 School Captains to the school community. Congratulations to Athena, Ava, Mitchell, and Willow on their selections for this leadership role. All applicants submitted comprehensive applications, speeches, and responses during interviews, which made the decision-making process challenging for the panel.

The process of selecting student leaders will continue in the coming weeks as we appoint Senior and Junior House Captains, as well as Committee Captains. Details regarding these appointments will be shared in future newsletters.

Many other exciting events are taking place across the school. I encourage you to read through the newsletter to learn about the achievements and efforts of both staff and students, both inside and outside the classroom.

Kind regards

Michelle Haeusler
