MS KATH JONES - DEPUTY PRINCIPAL: COMMUNITY & CULTURE

As we enter the final three weeks of school for our Year 12 cohort, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the unique and important phase our Year 12 students are currently experiencing. These last weeks are a time of intense preparation, reflection, and anticipation—not only for their upcoming exams but for the exciting new beginnings that await them beyond the school gates.
For our Year 12 students, this period represents the culmination of years of dedication, growth, and perseverance. The focus on exam preparation is understandably intense, but it also offers an important life lesson: success often comes through consistent effort, resilience, and the ability to manage both pressure and opportunity.
This journey of preparation and transition is not unique to our seniors. It echoes the experiences of our junior students who, through their own participation and engagement in school life, are laying the foundation for their future years here. Just as Year 12s are encouraged to be resilient and proactive during their final stretch, our younger students can draw inspiration from this example as they embrace learning, challenges, and new experiences within our community.
The shared spirit of participation—whether it’s in academics, sports, arts, or community initiatives—builds a culture where every student feels empowered to grow, contribute, and prepare for the next chapter of their lives. Our Year 12s’ dedication reminds us all of the importance of commitment and balance, lessons that benefit every student no matter their year level.
To our parents, your ongoing support continues to be vital. Encouraging your children to develop good study habits, manage their time effectively, and maintain their wellbeing during this busy period will help them thrive. For our Year 12 families, we commend your encouragement through this final push, and for our junior students’ families, we look forward to witnessing the many ways your children will rise to their own challenges in the years ahead.
As we watch our Year 12s prepare to close one chapter and begin another, let us celebrate the strength and spirit of our entire school community—a community where every student’s journey is valued and supported.
Thank you for being part of this shared journey.
Warm regards,
Kath Jones
