NAPLAN 2026
In March 2026, students from Years 5, 7 and 9 sat NAPLAN tests. In early Term 3, individual student reports will be sent to schools for distribution to parents. The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) will publish the national results in August and then we will have an understanding of how students performed compared to others.
We have received the results for Numeracy, Reading, Spelling and Grammar/Punctuation. Writing results will be distributed to schools in the coming weeks. Each of the cohorts have performed exceptionally well, with the majority of students falling into the 'Strong' or 'Exceeding' range.
The College uses NAPLAN results, along with AAS and internal results to assist students with targeted intervention or extension opportunities. Additionally, the data we have received from these tests direct us to prioritise the literacy and numeracy development of students. One initiative that has recently begun is the use of Accelerated Reader to enhance student comprehension and fluency.
St Pius X College is extremely proud of the students in Years 5, 7 and 9 as their results indicate a number of High Potential and Gifted students. The College also acknowledges that NAPLAN is only one part of a larger focus for students where individual strengths and talents are celebrated across a wide number of areas.
