Report from the Deputy Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians and Father Arsenio,
As many of you may know, Duncan is currently on leave in New Zealand attending a family wedding. We wish him and his family a wonderful time of celebration together.
Over the past fortnight, it has been a positive and productive time at Holy Spirit. Classrooms have been vibrant spaces of learning, with students demonstrating focus, curiosity and pride in their work. It has been wonderful to see the strong routines and high expectations that support calm and purposeful learning environments across the school.
Thank you to the many families who joined us for Open Classrooms on Monday. It was a joy to see students proudly sharing their learning and to welcome parents and carers into our learning spaces. Opportunities like this strengthen the important partnership between home and school, and we appreciate your continued engagement and support.
Next week, our Year 3 and Year 5 students will begin NAPLAN. We wish them all the very best as they undertake the assessments. We encourage our students to approach NAPLAN with confidence, to simply do their best and to see it as an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have been developing in class each day. We are very proud of the consistent effort they show in their learning.
Our students continue to live out our school values each day. Through our Positive Behaviour Learning focus and S.T.A.R. expectations, we are seeing students show responsibility, respect and care for one another both in the classroom and in the yard. Our Grade 5 STAR Leaders have continued to do an excellent job reinforcing these expectations through STAR News each week.
Thank you to our dedicated staff for their ongoing commitment and teamwork. Their professionalism and care for students ensures that learning continues seamlessly, even when key staff are on leave.
We look forward to welcoming Duncan back soon and sharing more of the wonderful learning happening at Holy Spirit in the weeks ahead.
Warm regards,
Kayla Flindt-Petersen
On behalf of Duncan
