News from the Resource Centre
Hello Friends!
Term 2 is well underway and the activity in the RC has been amazing to see. This term we have commenced the Premiers Reading Challenge and students have taken to it with fantastic enthusiasm. A reminder to all students that the challenge books we have in the RC can be found on the RC Search Page under Reading Lists à Premier's Reading Challenge 2026.
We have more Free Books available! Starting Monday the 25th, I will be adding more free books to the Free Book shelf. Please remember that none of these will have any Brinbeal Secondary College labels or stamps on them, so please don’t accidentally take something home that you shouldn’t.
A reminder, that all books MUST be borrowed to individual students before they leave the RC. No books are to leave the RC unborrowed.
Do you have a book that is overdue and you keep getting pesky emails from the RC telling you to bring it back? If you think you have lost the book, here are a few suggestions on where to look:
AT HOME
- In the car, and under things in the car (seats, baby seats, in the boot etc)
- In a schoolbag
- Down the side of a chair
- Behind the couch
- In the freezer*
- In your bed (or in a siblings/family member bed)
- In a bookshelf at home (check for the school labels!)
- In a bin*
- In a clothes drawer
- In the laundry
- In a toybox
AT SCHOOL
- In a Kaboodle*
- On a desk/table in the common areas
- In my locker (hint, look UNDER the mess in there 😁)
- In a friend’s locker
- In lost property
- In a teacher’s office
- Back on the RC shelf
- Returned to a sibling’s school
A reminder that the books you borrow from the RC are your responsibility, so please take care of them, so the rest of the school community can continue to enjoy them. If you do believe you have truly lost the book you have borrowed, and have exhausted all of your time searching, please come to the RC and let Ms Tottle know. There is no cost for losing a book, unless it becomes a habit.
Oh, and please don’t put your borrowed books anywhere with an * attached.
Finally, we have received some amazing donations from the school community and beyond recently, I would like to sincerely thank everyone for your contributions and will always accept good quality and good condition items as donations.
