Grade Prep/1/2

In Reading, students have been looking at different literacy elements in The Three Billy Goats Gruff. They have looked at how illustrations can show humour, how a story can teach us a life lesson (a moral) and how descriptive language can help us form an idea about a character.
In Writing, we have reviewed our knowledge of nouns and investigated how they can be replaced in sentences with pronouns. As we have discovered through our worked examples, using the same noun over and over again can get quite repetitive and boring!
In Maths, our class has been reviewing addition sums and looking at measurement. They have used different strategies to assist them with calculating their sums, such as using counters, number lines, the jump strategy and using the vertical algorithm.
I had an enormous amount of pride Wednesday afternoon when the class took the the stage for their dance they had been learning in P.E.
The bravery to perform in front of the whole school and staff is to be commended. Well done everyone!
