Acting Principal's Message

We have almost made it to the end of term two, with minimal impact to our learning spaces by the building works. The building work has been progressing in a rapid pace, with fences being erected and landscaping being completed. The last update I had received was that the toilets will be completed by the end of this week, ready for us to use at the beginning of term three. The fences are looking amazing and are moving along rapidly also. The longest wait time will be for the playground to be completed. The playground equipment has had a delay in manufacturing and will be arriving at some stage late July, early August. The students have coped beautifully with this being out of action, with the school purchasing some items such as toy cars to be used when out in the yard.
A big thank you to Ms. Parker, Ms. Mel, Ms. Riddle and Ms. Kilmartin who have come in and helped out our staffing absences. Some of these teachers will return in some capacity in term three. Ms. Parker has organised quite a few excursions in PE this term, with students heading to HILAC to complete netball lessons. The school will be participating in some school- based netball in term three. Students also participated in dance lessons and had a practice performance this week. This was a great practice for our talent show in term three. The students danced their hearts out, with staff joining in on the fun. It was a beautiful way to have some fun together.
A reminder for families to remember to practice our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience when engaging with school staff. The Department of Education has policy that supports respectful and safe communication. Should you wish to view this policy, please follow the link provided below. It is the aim of the school to work positively with all in our community in the best interests of our students.
