End of Year 2024
Kurnai College would like to provide some important updates regarding the end-of-year schedule for students.
HeadStart Program
The 2025 HeadStart Program for ALL students will conclude on Friday, 6th December. This is the last day of scheduled classes for the school year.
Attendance Schedule
Monday 9th Dec No scheduled classes. Only students commencing Year 7 in 2025 are required to attend school for orientation.
Tuesday 10th Dec No scheduled classes. Only students commencing Year 7 in 2025 are required to attend school for orientation.
Wednesday 11th Dec Gumbuya World Celebration Day: As per Compass excursion information, students should return to their 2024 campus for this event (2024 Year 10’s students return to their Junior Campus).
Thursday 12th Dec Activity Day 1: on-site activity days will be held at the junior campuses, if students wish to attend they should attend their 2024 campus.
Friday 13th Dec College Awards Ceremony: All students are invited to attend and are to assemble from their 2024 Campus. Invitations will be forthcoming to award recipient families prior to the event.
Monday 16th Dec Activity Day 2: on-site activity days will be held at the junior campuses, if students wish to attend they should attend their 2024 campus.

2025 Kurnai College Booklist Information
Booklists are now available for Kurnai College families.
- Access the Booklist:
Visit www.booklists.com.au/morwellnewspower to view and complete your booklist. - Submission Deadlines:
- Online: Submit your booklist by Wednesday, 11th December 2024.
- Hard Copy: Available from campus offices, return completed lists to Kurnai College or Morwell Newspower by Friday, 6th December 2024.
- Payment Options:
- Online: Payment can be made when submitting your booklist online.
- In Person: If online payment is not possible, visit Morwell Newspower to place and pay for your order.

- Time: 9:00 am – 4:45 pm

School Saving Bonus
The School Saving Bonus provides a one-off $400 to help Victorian school-aged students in Term 4, 2024 for use on 2025 school costs associated with school uniforms, textbooks, excursions and activities.
Actions for Parents and Carers
To receive the School Saving Bonus, parents and carers of children who are attending a Victorian government school in 2025 are required to do the following:
- Complete enrolment: If your child, or children are changing government school for Term 1 2025, or starting Prep or Year 7 in 2025, please complete enrolment. For more information, read about Enrolling in School.
- Check your contact information: Ensure your phone number and email address is up to date with your school. You can check this information by contacting your school directly.

Code Red Fire Danger
A reminder to all families, that on days of Code Red in the West & South Gippsland Fire Zone, both the Churchill and University campuses will be closed.
This is a change to previous years, and we ask families to be aware of this in preparation.
