It never ceases to amaze me how quickly a term can pass and this is no exception. Students are now preparing to start their classes for 2025 with our Year 10s having already begun Year 11 at the University Campus. Headstart is an incredibly important week for getting to know new classes and teachers. Student attendance is pivotal. Many new students start that week also.
Parents may remember the difficulties that we have faced this year in having staff in place. There have been a number of additional staff added during the year to resolve this problem. Teachers are in shortage across Victoria and Australia and we were certainly not alone in our difficulties. It is very pleasing, however, at the time of writing, to be able to say that we have our teachers set and in place for 2025. Along with this, our leadership team is set and ready to go.

Please don’t hesitate to contact any of these people to discuss any concerns you have for 2025. They are keen to help your child achieve their best. We also have a range of other Principals and Learning Specialists that operate the College to lead staff in getting the best for your children’s education.
Friday, 6th December we welcome our 2025 Year 7s to Morwell Campus for their three days of Orientation. This is an exciting time for kids and often an anxious time for parents. The Orientation Days give kid a chance to have a good experience of high school and go into the holidays feeling confident about next year. To facilitate the best possible experience, we have only the Year 7s at the school on Monday and Tuesday (9th and 10th December). This is not the end of the year, however, and activity days, College Awards and our annual trip to Gumbuya World follow. Please stay abreast of notifications on Compass and dates as indicated in this newsletter to track the end of year wind down.
As this is the last newsletter for the year, I will take this opportunity to thank our Learning Community for a great year and wish everybody a safe and happy Christmas and New Years.
