Principal's Report

School Council Election Results

The School Council elections have concluded. The following members will make up our new team at the conclusion of the AGM on March 18: 

Parent Members:

Mrs Jessica Herdman, Mr Ronnie Lowe, Mr Stuart Freemantle, Mrs Allison Patrick, Mrs Sarah Schoots, Mr Phil Garner, Mrs Bronte Spicer and Mrs Genevieve Fells

DET members:

Mr Francis Trezise (Executive Officer), Mr Brett Parkes, Mr Chris McClellan and Mrs Lauren Schulz

Thanks and congratulations to our two newest members, Mr Stuart Freemantle and Mrs Allison Patrick. I would also like to acknowledge our two returning members, Mrs Jessica Herdman and Mr Ronnie Lowe.

I would like to thank our ‘retiring’ school council members, Mrs Annemarie McClure and Mr Ben Pollard, for their significant and important contributions to the school community. I have really enjoyed having you both on School Council. Thanks very much for volunteering your valuable time to help and support our school.

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, 18th March at 6.00pm followed by a School Council General Meeting at 6.30pm. 

Parent Club

Our Parent Club AGM is on tomorrow - Friday, 23rd of February at 2.00pm. Parent Club is a great way to get involved with our school and play an active part in making our school even more awesome. Please contact Emma Clohesy at  emma.clohesy@education.vic.gov.au to confirm. 

Student Leaders for 2024

We have now finalised our student leadership positions for 2024 with the selection of our Student Representative Council (SRC) and Indigenous Leaders.

Our Indigenous Student Leaders for 2024 are Evelyn F and Tiahna E.

Leadership Badges

SRC and Indigenous Leaders will receive their badges at assembly tomorrow. Assembly will start at 3pm.

School Council Summary

Our February School Council meeting was held recently. Many items were discussed and/or ratified, including:

School Review

Our school will be involved in a review this year. All schools must participate in a school review every 4 years. The school review informs the development of the school's 4-year School Strategic Plan (SSP). The school review also provides assurance of ongoing compliance with the Minimum Standard related to curriculum and student learning.

The School Review will be held in early August.

School Council Elections 2024

We had four Parent Member vacancies and two DET Employee Member vacancies. Please refer to 'School Council Election Results' above for further details.

2023 Annual Report 

It is a legislative requirement that all Victorian government schools prepare an Annual Report by 30 April each year, and that this includes specific information on student outcomes, attendance and financial activities.

Enrolments 

We currently have 411 students enrolled at our school. 

Manya Building

As everyone will be aware, we had an incredible number of unwanted visitors over the holiday period. One area that has proven to be a challenge is the Manya Building. School Council are considering ways to manage this issue.

School Credit Carryover Policy

DET have changed one of their finance policies. This change is not likely to have any impact on our school.
