Students will be allowed to take their netbooks home on Monday, 26th February (Week 5). Cases will be sent home this week and students are more than welcome to decorate them in anyway they'd like!
A quick reminder that the netbooks themselves are not to have stickers/labels placed on them and their control features (such as cursors) are to be left unchanged. Thankyou so much for your assistance with this!
A massive thankyou to Mr Smith for his fantastic organisation of our Senior Swimming Sports last week! Well done also to each of our students for showing our School Values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience throughout the afternoon!
Mathematics: In Applied Maths, we will focus on classifying angles as either greater or larger than a right angle and then move onto 'Probability' in Week 6. Students have settled very well into their first set of Fluid Groups for 2024 and will continue developing their understanding of Place Value over the upcoming fortnight.
Writing & Reading: In Writing, students will continue to explore a variety of VCOP skills including 'Show Not Tell' and how to formulate ideas when planning. In Week 6, we will begin our first unit on Narrative Writing. In Reading, we will continue to expand our vocabularies by using reference tools such as dictionaries and thesauruses. We will also work to increase our fluency skills by practising how to back up and reread difficult parts of text.
Topic: Students have enjoyed considering some of their favourite hobbies and sharing them with their classmates through the use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Google slides. This fortnight we will focus on some of the different celebrations we have in our own families as well as different celebrations that are held around the world.
