Term 1, Week 4

Important

School Nurse

So far, the school nurse has only received 26 completed forms. We would love to have as close to 57 completed forms as we can, before she visits. If you need assistance completing your form, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Often the School Nurse picks up things that have been unnoticed such as the need for glasses or hearing difficulties. If these things are picked up quickly, children will have much more success in the classroom. This is a FREE service.

What we've been up to...

We have had lots of fun building our fine motor skills, learning the letters m, s, f, and a and all about the numbers 1, 2 and 3. We have also been very busy practising 'The Wiggle Dance' with our buddies. We are going to perform this dance at our whole school 'Start Up Performance' on Friday the 1st of March at 9am.

Upcoming Fortnight

The 'Start Up Performance' is next Friday the 1st of March at 9am, in the hub. Our wonderful Prep students will be performing a song and dance together. You are all welcome to come along and watch your superstars perform.

Literacy:

During week 5, we will learn to say the most common sound for and to write 'p, c, t and i'. In week 6, we will revise the sounds we have learnt over the last fortnight and begin to use these sounds to write and make three letter words.

Mathematics:

We will be learning about the numbers 4-8. We will also learn about counting a collection of objects, bigger and smaller numbers, number order and subitising.

Topic:

During week 5, we will look at the metacognition strategies of taking responsible risks and why making mistakes is important.  In week 6, we will be looking at our identity. In particular, we will be discussing our favourite colours, pets and foods.

In Respectful Relationships, we will discuss what our emotions sound like and we will continue to talk about and draw our emotions.
