What's on at our College

SEAS Junior Volleyball Carnival Success
At the end of Term 3, Salvado Catholic College's Year 7-9 Volleyball teams proudly represented the College at the 2026 SEAS Junior Volleyball Carnival. The girls competed at Cockburn ARC, while the boys travelled to the Baldivis Indoor Sports Complex for a day of exciting and highly competitive volleyball.
Our girls' teams delivered an outstanding performance. The Girls A team remained undefeated throughout the carnival, culminating in a well-earned Grand Final victory. The Girls B team also impressed, losing just one match all day to the eventual Grand Final runners-up. Both teams displayed exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork against strong opposition.
The boys likewise enjoyed a highly successful carnival. The Salvado A Team finished first overall, losing only one game by a single point across the entire tournament. Their consistency, composure under pressure, and commitment to one another were instrumental in securing a deserved championship victory. The Salvado B Team competed strongly throughout the day, showing significant growth in confidence and skill as the carnival progressed, and producing several impressive performances along the way.
Beyond the results, our students represented Salvado Catholic College with pride, integrity, and sportsmanship. They demonstrated respect for fellow competitors, coaches, and officials at all times, reflecting the values we strive to uphold as a College community.
These achievements reflect our students' dedication and commitment to the Volleyball Club. Week after week, up to 30 students attend Thursday afternoon training sessions, as well as spending countless recesses and lunchtimes refining their skills. Their enthusiasm, perseverance, and willingness to support one another have played a significant role in their success.
Congratulations to all players and staff involved in such a memorable day. We are incredibly proud of how our students represented Salvado Catholic College on and off the court. Their achievements are a wonderful reflection of our College values and the strength of our growing volleyball program.

Virtual Reality Brings Learning to Life
Last week, students had the exciting opportunity to engage in immersive virtual reality experiences with Mindflight7 VR, bringing science learning to life in a whole new way.
Our Year 10 students travelled beyond the classroom and into space, exploring the wonders of the Solar System through an interactive virtual reality experience. Students were able to investigate planets, moons and other celestial bodies while gaining a deeper understanding of our place in the universe.
The Year 11 Biology class participated in the engaging EcoVoyage experience, where students explored ecosystems and environmental interactions in an immersive setting. This provided a unique opportunity to visualise biological concepts and strengthen their understanding of ecological relationships.
Meanwhile, our Year 11 Science in Practice students thoroughly enjoyed the interactive Get Physical experience, investigating the science of movement and how our bodies respond to physical challenges. The virtual reality environment inspired curiosity, problem-solving and a greater appreciation of the role movement plays in our daily lives.
These innovative learning experiences provided students with an engaging and memorable way to explore complex scientific concepts, demonstrating how technology can enhance learning beyond the traditional classroom. We thank Mindflight7 VR for sharing these incredible experiences with our students.

Year 2 Excursion to Perth Zoo
On 18 September, our Year 2 students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Perth Zoo. The day was filled with wonderful learning opportunities and exciting experiences as students explored a variety of animal habitats and learned about wildlife from around the world.
Each class participated in the ‘Habitat Heroes’ workshop, where students explored the different features that make up a habitat and discovered why there are so many diverse habitats across the globe. To conclude the workshop, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to touch a bobtail lizard, which was a highlight for many students.
During the remainder of the day, students enjoyed a self-guided tour of the zoo. Some of our favourite animals included the Komodo dragon, giraffes, lions, numbats, and kangaroos. Students were enthusiastic and engaged as they observed the animals and their environments.
A big 'Thank You' to our parent volunteers who helped make the day such a success. The students returned to school with many wonderful memories and a greater appreciation for the incredible diversity of the animal world.
