Mission & Faith Life

As we move into the final term of the year, our commitment to living out our faith through service continues. Throughout Term 4, students will have the opportunity to demonstrate compassion, generosity and solidarity through several Christian Service initiatives that support both our local community and those experiencing hardship.

Vinnies School Sleepout (Week 5)

In Week 5, students in Years 4-6 will be participating in the Vinnies School Sleepout. This voluntary event aims to raise awareness about homelessness and the challenges faced by many Australians experiencing disadvantage.

Through reflection, discussion and fundraising, students will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of empathy and social justice while supporting the valuable work of St Vincent de Paul. If you are still keen to participate, please contact Mrs Georgina Trewavas at Georgina.Trewavas@cewa.edu.au.

Supporting Salvado Families through our Uniform Sale (Week 5)

Thank you to all who have donated their pre-loved uniforms. These items will be sold at our Uniform Sale on Monday 9 November and Tuesday 10 November, helping families access quality uniforms at affordable prices while also raising funds for our Vinnies Christmas Appeal.

Thank you all again, for your support of this community initiative.

Vinnies Christmas Appeal (Weeks 6-9)

From Week 6, our annual Vinnies Christmas Appeal will begin. This much-loved initiative provides students with a meaningful opportunity to bring joy and hope to individuals and families in need during the Christmas season.

Students will be invited to contribute a gold coin donation to their class or PCG communal fund. These funds will be used to purchase gifts for people supported by Vinnies. Students will then assist in wrapping the gifts, further fostering a spirit of service and giving.

The gifts will be presented during our End-of-Year Liturgy in Week 9 before being donated to Vinnies Armadale for distribution within the local community.

More information about the incredible work Vinnies do to support people at Christmas-time can be found here https://donate.vinnies.org.au/christmas-appeal

Thank You for your Support

Christian Service Learning is an important part of life at Salvado Catholic College, helping students develop a deeper understanding of compassion, stewardship and social responsibility. We are grateful for the ongoing partnership of our families in supporting these initiatives and providing opportunities for our students to put faith into action.

Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and continue to build a community grounded in service, hope and generosity.

Pope Leo XIV's Monthly Prayer Intention

In November, we pray for the proper use of wealth.

Let us pray for the proper use of wealth, that not succumbing to the temptation of selfishness, it may always be put at the service of the common good and solidarity of those who have less.
