Devotion

Ephesians is a book in the bible that is a letter from Paul to the new and growing church in Ephesus. Paul is writing to the people in Ephesus and us as the readers of the Bible to encourage and support us with tips as to how we live our lives as Christians. In the lead up to these verses Paul talks about how children need to respect their parents and how parents need to care for their children. How slaves need to follow their masters’ instructions and that masters need to look after their slaves.
God gives us tools – His Armour that we can put on each day that help us navigate the hard parts of life – including the lies which the evil one whispers about who we are. The Belt of Truth reminds us of the truth that we hear from the word of God about ourselves and our identity in Him, so that we don’t listen to the lies that Satan / the devil tells us about who we are!
Do you ever have that thought that you are not good enough? … the Bible says we are complete in Christ Jesus (Colossians 2:10)
Have you ever felt like you don’t belong? … the Bible says We are children of God (Galatians 3:26)
… that we don’t matter … the Bible says We are Chosen (1 Peter 2:9)
… that you have sinned too much… the Bible says We are redeemed (Galatians 3:13) because of what Jesus has done for us!
… that you are alone … the Bible says God is always with us he will not leave us (Deut 31:6)
I pray that this week you hear God’s truth about you, these truths drown out the lies that the devil tries to plant.
Blessings for this week and this term.
