Aus Alert National Test

This message is to advise our community of a scheduled national test of the AusAlert Emergency Warning System. 

This test will occur on Monday 27 July 2026 (Next Monday). 

In South Australia, the alert will be issued at 1:30pm.

At this time, a single Critical AusAlert test message will be sent to most mobile devices, including phones and some smart watches and tablets. It may look like this:

Devices will vibrate and emit a siren-like sound for approximately 10 seconds, and a message will clearly indicate that it is a test.

To keep our community safe, if you or someone you know is in a DV or unsafe situation and are currently hiding a back-up/safe phone or other communication devices, as this test can bypass 'silent' and 'do not disturb' modes, and even though putting the devices on airplane is an option, it is safest that you switch off your devices at least 1 hour before the scheduled time and keep them switched off for at least 1 hour after the test, or until you are safe.

Lastly, as per our school uniform policy, students should not be wearing smart watches. To avoid your child potentially cause disruption during their lesson due to their smart watch emitting the AusAlert siren, we kindly ask families to ensure their child/children do not wear smart watches at school.
