Jerry Ieremia crowned 2025 Australian Boxing Champion

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Year 12 student, Jerry Ieremia, who has been crowned the 2025 80kg Australian Boxing Champion!

 

Jerry’s success is the result of tremendous dedication, discipline and determination - both inside and outside the boxing ring. Balancing his studies with an intense training schedule, Jerry has demonstrated exceptional perseverance and focus, setting a powerful example for his peers.

 

Jerry has competed against some of the nation’s best amateur boxers, showcasing not only his skill and strength but also remarkable sportsmanship. His achievement is a testament to what can be accomplished through hard work, resilience and passion.

 

We congratulate Jerry on this incredible national title and look forward to seeing what the future holds for him - both in sport and beyond.

 

Congratulations to Kai McQualter  2026 Australian Open Ball Kid Leader

A massive congratulations to Kai McQualter from Year 9, who served as a Ball Kid at the 2025 Australian Open and has now been selected from thousands of applicants to take on a prestigious leadership role at the 2026 Australian Open.

 

Kai has been chosen as one of the Leaders of the Ball Kids, a remarkable achievement that recognises his fantastic teamwork and leadership skills. In addition to this honour, Kai was also invited to launch Australian Open Live, further highlighting the respect and trust he has earned from event organisers.

 

This incredible opportunity is a testament to Kai’s commitment and enthusiasm, both on and off the court. We are immensely proud of his achievements and can’t wait to see him once again on the Australian Open courts this January.

Congratulations to our Regional Athletics team on their outstanding success at the Southern Metropolitan Regional Athletics competition, held at Casey Fields on the 9th October.

 

All of our students were an absolute credit to the College - cheering on their peers, showing great team spirit and giving their all in every event. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment truly reflected our College SOAR values.

Congratulations to Sinsarut 'Q' Chitkanwong, who was awarded the Year 11–12 Bronze Medal at the recent Chess State Finals after an exceptional performance, winning 7 out of 9 matches.

 

Our school team also achieved an outstanding result, placing 18th out of 71 schools in a highly competitive field of 450 individual competitors. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the skill, focus and teamwork shown by all our players throughout the event.
