Thank you to Fr. Shymon and all of the staff, families and parishioners for their support with the Confirmation Mass on Saturday evening. Congratulations to the following students who received the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation. May you be guided by the gifts of the Holy Spirit all throughout your lives as fully initiated members of the universal Catholic Church.
A big thank you to the students and their parents or carers who honoured their commitment to sing in the choir for the Confirmation Mass on Saturday night. You all looked and sounded beautiful, and I felt very proud to lead the Mass music with you all, along with Bill and Jon in the band. Well done!
Please also pray for Indiana S, who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at a later date.
Thank you to the Year One and Two staff and students for so beautifully leading the whole school Mass of Saint Mary MacKillop on Thursday, August 7th, the day before her official feast day. Saint Mary Mackillop was the first, and currently still the only Australian Saint. Her motto, ‘Never see a need without doing something about it,’ has such profound relevance in the teachings of the Catholic church today. May Saint Mary MacKillop, also known as Mary of the Southern Cross, be an example to all as we work to help others in need. As the Year One and Two students explained so beautifully during the Reflection after Communion at Mass last Thursday, the SJAT/Mini Vinnies Team are coordinating a food donation drive to help those in need in our local community. Please see the attached flyer for information about the Term Three St Vincent De Paul Appeal. Thank you to the families who have already contributed so generously. Please keep those contributions rolling until Wednesday, August 20th, when the appeal concludes.
