Performing Arts News
Choir members will be presented with their choir badge at assembly when they have met the minimum attendance requirement of 6 rehearsals. Choir members who still have a badge from their previous membership can opt to wear their existing badge in the meantime.
Disney's Frozen Jr: Performing Arts Showcase, 2025- The Countdown is On.
Now, with less than five weeks until showtime, St Brendan’s is abuzz with rehearsals and preparations for our whole school production of Frozen Jr. School productions at St Brendan’s School are traditionally much-anticipated highlights of community engagement in our school, which have occurred biannually for many years. Productions showcase student talent and unite our community, bringing to fruition the Performing Arts curriculum. All students are expected to participate in both performances as they take the opportunity to develop their resilience, confidence and skills for teamwork.
Parents with concerns or challenges around their child’s participation are asked to please contact me (preferably via email) or a member of the leadership team as soon as possible so that appropriate staging and arrangements can be made.
Thank you in advance for your support with this matter.
Costumes
Last term, all families received a notification via Audiri about costume requirements. Please read this information and ensure that your child/ren have their clothing items (except for black school shoes, which need to be worn to school on production day/night) as soon as possible, as these items were required by Monday, July 28th. For families who are yet to source these items, please speak with your child’s teacher this week, as dress rehearsals will begin next week during school time.
Tickets
Please see the flyer in this edition of the newsletter for further ticketing information. Casting arrangements have now been made to assist families with purchasing their tickets accordingly. Please remember that all students are expected to perform in both the 11:30 am and 7:00 pm shows at The Frankston Arts Centre on Monday, September 15th, 2025.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are now well underway for the main cast who have dialogue and solo or group singing parts. The rehearsal process is a ‘marathon, not a sprint’, so please be patient if your child is not required at every rehearsal. In time, all will be required! In the meantime, I encourage all students with main character roles to continue rehearsing their dialogue and songs at home via the resources on their Google Classroom. Lines should be known ‘off by heart’ as much as possible by the end of this week.
Production Day Information
Please keep an eye out on Audiri this week for a detailed overview of production day arrangements.
Yours in faith & harmony.
