Tennis

On Friday, 20th March, we had four teams represent our College in SSV girls’ tennis at the Leongatha tennis courts.

Our Year 7 team were competitive all day and showed great enthusiasm and determination when playing their matches. There were a few girls in the team who hadn’t played before and showed some great tennis potential. A big thank you to Kiara, who stepped in at the last minute to play.

The year 8 team played great tennis all day. Again, there were a few beginners on this team, and it was wonderful to see the support and guidance their more experienced team members provided. The girls were very keen to take the court, encouraged each other and demonstrated strong team spirit. They had a very successful day and will advance to the next stage.

The intermediate girls had some great matches, playing some impressive and entertaining tennis. They were consistent throughout their matches, narrowly missing out on advancing to the next round. The girls were recognised for how they helped and encouraged their opponents with limited tennis experience.

Our senior girls played some strong tennis against their opposition and entertained the crowd with their shots. They had a successful day and will continue on to the next stage. Thanks to Clara for playing with the senior girls.

It was great to see everyone take the court with such enthusiasm and commitment and also to see the excellent sportsmanship that was on display throughout the day. Well done to all of our tennis players.

Boys' Tennis was held on Friday, 27th March, with students demonstrating strong effort, sportsmanship, and teamwork throughout the day. All participants represented the school positively and competed with enthusiasm across their matches.

The Year 8 boys and Senior boys teams performed particularly well, showing skill, determination, and consistency in their games. As a result of their strong performances, both teams have successfully qualified to progress to the regional competition early next term.

Well done to all students involved for their commitment and conduct on the day. We wish the Year 8 and Senior boys the best of luck as they prepare for the next stage of competition.
