Families holding a valid means-tested Centrelink concession card are eligible to apply for a payment of $400, which will be paid directly to the College to be used towards camps, sports and excursion costs. Applications are assessed by Centrelink and are based on valid concession cards.
Application forms are to be completed and lodged with schools. However, the school will be able to accept and process applications up until 26th June 2026. Regular payment runs will occur throughout Terms One and Two.
Families wishing to apply for the payment should visit the CSEF website at https://www.vic.gov.au/camps-sports-and-excursions-fund and download an application form, complete and return it to school by 26th June, or alternatively pick up an application form from the College office.

STUDENT EXITS
If you are exiting the College, please contact Claire Cassidy to obtain an exit form at ccassidy@mmcrc.catholic.edu.au. Student laptops can be purchased or returned to the College. All library books need to be returned as well.
TOWN BUS FARES
From 2026, students who travel on the town bus will need to have a Youth myki card to access free travel on these services.
After the initial $5 cost of the Youth myki card, students will be able to use these buses and other trains, trams and public transport buses across Victoria for free. Students aged 16 & 17 travelling on public transport are encouraged to also carry another form of ID, such as a student card.
These cards will take effect from 1 January 2026. Passengers aged between 5 and 17 will need to purchase a Youth myki card to access free travel. Youth myki cards are available to purchase online:
https://transport.vic.gov.au/tickets-and-myki/myki
To purchase a Youth myki card online, customers need to create an online account or login to their existing myki account. Please note: Due to high demand there may be delays in customers receiving their Youth myki card when purchased online. From 1st January passengers will be able to use their confirmation email to access free travel until their card arrives.
If you would like more info about the town school buses for free student travel within Leongatha, please contact Winterhalter Buslines on 56551145.
AMBULANCE VICTORIA MEMBERSHIP
Accidents do happen! All families are encouraged to be members of Ambulance Victoria. At times of accidents or illness, the First Aid trained staff member/s in attendance will decide whether or not they should request the attendance of the ambulance service.
In doing so, the health and safety of the patient will be the only determining factor. Ambulance membership or potential costs to families will not be a point of consideration. Such a decision will always be made with a conservative ‘better safe than sorry’ attitude. Parents (or next of kin for an adult) will always be contacted as soon as possible so that they can attend when the ambulance arrives. A familiar staff member will accompany a student to the hospital if the attending ambulance officer approves and in consultation with the parent/guardian.
DID YOU KNOW?
Arriving and leaving the College - start and end of day
A reminder to parents that the drop-off/pick-up area for students is at the back car park behind the multi-purpose hall only.
The back car park: All parents are to wait until the buses have left the front of the College to leave the College grounds, a staff member is usually on duty at the T intersection, stopping the traffic. This is to avoid a backup of cars at the corner of Ogilvy Street and Horn Street. We need to get the buses to the Secondary College ASAP after the end of the school day.
We would also remind staff, parents, and students of the following:-
All students leaving the College on foot must use the footpath. Students riding bicycles need to wait for the buses to leave then they can exit the property via the main gate. It is not safe to be crossing Horn Street between the main gate and Strzelecki Highway. Nor is it safe for a parent to stop and collect or drop off students in this section of Horn Street.
In order for buses to run to schedule, no student, parent or staff vehicles (with the exception of the teacher on bus duty at Leongatha Secondary College) should leave ahead of the first group of buses.
First Aid
When a student requests to go to the First Aid room a class pass must be provided to them by their classroom teacher. The student can then go to the office where the office staff will sign the student into the First Aid room and enter the time of entry (and exit). Office staff will call parents if their child needs further attention. Please do not contact parents directly via SMS/email etc. If your child contacts you then please ask them to tell their teacher that they are unwell and we will call you.
School Nurses
If your student has medication authority forms, new actions plans for asthma or allergies, or any correspondence relating to your child's health, please send documentation through to: health@mmcrc.catholic.edu.au
Student Absence
Parents are requested to contact the school by 9 am in the event of their child being absent for the day, this can be done in PAM, by calling 03 56622 4255 or by emailing attendance@mmcrc.catholic.edu.au. All schools are required to record a reason for every absence from school.
Announcements and early departures
We are unable to make announcements during class time. If a student needs to leave the College early parents can prearrange this by calling 03 5662 4255 or emailing attendance@mmcrc.catholic.edu.au to organise a leave pass, parents then need to come to the front office to sign out their child. Any messages can only be passed on to a student once the bell has gone at 3:15 pm.
Bus Passes
Bus passes must be applied for through student reception with a minimum of 48-hours notice. Bus drivers will not accept a note from a parent—the pass must be issued by the College. Most buses are at capacity therefore passes cannot be issued especially for sporting or social purposes. Bus pass inquiries can be emailed to: bus@mmcrc.catholic.edu.au
