Sandhurst Division Soccer

I would like to congratulate both the Senior Boys and Girls soccer teams for their performance at the Sandhurst Division Soccer Championships at Epsom last Thursday. Both of our teams represented the school extremely well, demonstrating wonderful sportsmanship, skill and team spirit.

The Girls team had a particularly successful day. They went through their preliminary rounds of the tournament undefeated, setting up a final with St Killian’s in the last game of the day. St. Killian’s eventually came out on top, meaning that our girls finished 2nd overall.

The Boys team also had an outstanding day (see students report below). They finished the day with 3 wins, one loss and a draw to eventual winner Quarry Hill. This meant that they also finished 2nd overall in their competition.

It was a pleasure to take such a well-behaved, enthusiastic, team orientated group of students to this tournament. I would sincerely like to thank both Louise McColl (Girls) and Mr Daenke (Boys) for their outstanding coaching. The players have certainly learnt a great deal in a short period of time.

Students Soccer Report

Last week our school took a team of Grade 5/6 to compete in the Inter-schools Soccer Tournament. The boys did very well and came second overall. They scored many amazing goals and finished close behind Quarry Hill after we tied 1 all. Overall we all enjoyed the day and had heaps of fun. We would like to say thanks to Mr. Smith, Mr. Daenke, Louise McColl and all other volunteers for setting up and organising the day so that we could all have lots of fun.”

Senior Athletics

All of the students who competed at our recent Senior School Athletics have received their ribbons based on their overall score for the day. Any student who was absent when the ribbons were handed out can see Mr Smith.

Age Champions will receive their medallions at our Assembly tomorrow.

District Athletics - Change of Date

The District Sports that was scheduled for next Tuesday the 21st of June has been postponed and will now take place on Tuesday the 9th of August. This postponement is the result of the weather forecast and the difficulty schools in our district have had scheduling their own athletics day.

A Compass message will be sent to the students involved.
