Term 2, Week 8

Reminders

  • Camp Forms for Camp Wilkin - please see below!
  • Camp Kookaburra (Year 4s) 31st Aug. - 2nd Sept. Please be aware that this camp is not subsidised by the government and there will be a fee. More information will be sent out next term (including costs). 
  • Home Reading Diaries must be checked each night and come to school Friday with a parent signature. Students will need to read a minimum of 20 minutes for 4 nights each week.

Camp Wilkin - Week 2 (Mon, 18th - Wed, 20th July)

Camp Wilkin (Anglesea) is approaching quickly and we are all very excited! This camp provides a variety of challenging and fun activities designed to promote team-work, resilience and confidence. They include:

  • ropes course
  • flying fox
  • bike riding
  • team building games
  • archery
  • high swing
  • rock-climbing
  • orienteering 

Permission forms have been uploaded to Compass and will need to be completed as soon as possible if you would like your child/ren to attend. Medical forms have also been sent home as a hardcopy. To help our staff organise the camp, medical forms are due next Monday, Week 9. Thankyou for your assistance with this!

Topic - Campaign Posters

Students are continuing to work very hard on their 'Campaign Posters' about an endangered animal of their choice. These will be completed next week.

Learning in Week 9

Mathematics: Students will complete testing during Week 9 to demonstrate the skills they have been taught in 'addition' and 'subtraction'. They will also do testing in preparation for our Term 3 Maths' topics. Students are continuing work on their 'Design a Zoo' projects in Applied Maths and are looking forward to being able to share them at the end of the term. 

 

Writing & Reading: Having completed our unit on 'Informative Writing', students will now have the opportunity to choose a favourite piece of writing from this term to publish, print and take home. 

 

Topic: As you can see above, students are continuing to work on their 'Campaign Posters' to finish off our unit on Sustainability and Conservation. Next term, we will begin a new topic looking at 'Disability and Inclusion'.
