Liturgical News

This week we celebrated the start of our lenten journey with our Opening and Ash Wednesday Mass held on 17th February in our College hall. It has been almost a year since we have had the opportunity to celebrate any masses or liturgies together as a Marian community due to Covid restrictions, so it was pleasing to see all our students gathered to dedicate our 2021 school year to God. Our thanks goes to Fr Jomer, Sr Trish, and those of our Year 12 students who participated in our mass as readers, distributors of the ashes and also provided the sacred music.

This year due to covid restrictions with choirs, Mr Segrave and I have decided to allocate each elective music class a mass. This enables us to provide quality music for our masses, (and youth masses) and also offers an additional opportunity for the elective music classes to further their musical skills. Year 10 students will be participating in our next masses, for Easter and our Youth Mass.  Any student who wishes to be involved, in any way, with either the Youth Masses, or our College masses are most welcome to make contact with me or email me aventib@ww.catholic.edu.au.

Next on our liturgical calendar is our first Youth Masses on Sunday March 7th, 9am Mass in our College hall hosted by Year 10. We look forward to seeing students of Year 10 and their families attending and supporting this beautiful mass.
