Year 11 Awards Ceremony

Last Friday we held our 2nd annual Year 11 Awards Ceremony to celebrate the individual and collective achievements of this cohort. It was great to have staff, students and their families in attendance to congratulate them all on a fantastic year.  I would like to acknowledge all Subject Award winners and Scholarship recipients on their outstanding achievements. Our College has proud and extensive relationships with industry and the community, and I would like to thank them for their generous donations as these scholarships financially support our students by going toward their school fees for next year.

I would also like to congratulate the incoming Head Students for 2022, Ella De Lacy and Hayden Stewart who were also announced at the ceremony.

Certificate IV Agriculture in 2022

It is with great enthusiasm that I inform you that in partnership with Central Regional TAFE (CRTAFE) we will be offering Certificate IV in Agriculture (AHC40116) in 2022. This course will be offered to Year 12’s who have been accepted into the Cert III Agriculture course for 2022. An email with information and EOI went home to all of these students and their parents. It would be appreciated if these could be returned in the coming weeks to assist with planning.

I believe there is a significant demand in our agricultural region to develop highly-skilled graduates to service current and future workforce demand. This qualification will enable students to further enhance their knowledge and skills and facilitate greater employment, training and university pathway opportunities post-school.

Congratulations Madison Corsini

Huge congratulations to our phenomenal Assistant Farm Manager, Mrs Madison Corsini who has been announced the 2021 School Support Services Staff Member of the Year at this year's 2021 WA Education Awards.

Well done, Madi. Very well deserved indeed!

Good luck, Charlotte Crossen

Year 12 student, Charlotte Crossen was this week interviewed as a finalist for the prestigious Beazley Medal award. We wish you all the very best Charlotte - you are a winner in our eyes.

Update on Senior Staff Positions

An update on the Senior Staff recruitment processes that have recently run:

  • Kelsey Smith has been appointed as the permanent Head of Curriculum
  • Yvonne Bopp has been appointed as the permanent Manager Corporate Services
  • Paul Lock has been appointed as the fixed-term Positive Culture and Wellbeing Coordinator
  • The Level 4 Associate Principal position was not filled. Paul Beecham will continue assisting us by filling the role in Term 1 next year while we run the recruitment process again

In regards to the Principal’s position substantively held by Sally Panizza, the Director of Agriculture position that Sally is currently acting in, is currently in the process of being filled. I will update you once that process has been finalised.

College Board Parent Vacancies

Moving into 2022, there will be three vacancies for incoming Year 11 parents. Nomination forms for the Board and P&C will go out to incoming parents this week. Should you know any incoming parents, please feel free to encourage them to consider nominating. The commitment is one meeting per term (usually backing onto a 'closed weekend' or end of term).  An election will be held should we have more than 3 nominees.

The Board plays an essential part in supporting and influencing our strategic direction and school governance.

Thank You

As this is our last Chatter for the year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents, staff, students and members of the community for their ongoing support over the course of 2021. I am most certainly proud to be the leader of this phenomenal College as what is on offer for our students quite simply defies belief at times.

Wishing you all the very best for the rest of harvest and the upcoming holiday break.
