Principal's Message

From the Principal

Dear Families,

We are now approaching the 3rd Sunday of Lent. On Ash Wednesday, at the beginning of Lent, we were all asked to think about ways to make improvements to our lives, to make changes and to renew our commitment in the Lord and show this by our efforts to talk with Jesus in prayer, to turn away from sin and to care for those in need. This is the time for change; to turn our hearts back to God. We are a community, we are the people of God, we are the Church. During this time many of us 'fast' from doing some of the things we  usually do. Now is the time to think, 'how am I going with this? What can I do better?

However, Lent should be more than a time of fasting – it should also be a joyous season of feasting. Lent is a time to fast from certain things and to feast on others.

The Fast Life

Fast from judging others;

Feast on Christ dwelling in them.

Fast from fear of illness;

Feast on the healing power of God.

Fast from words that pollute

;Feast on speech that purifies.

Fast from discontent;

Feast on gratitude.

Fast from anger;

Feast on patience.

Fast from pessimism;

Feast on hope.

Fast from negatives;

Feast on encouragement.

Fast from bitterness;

Feast on forgiveness.

Fast from self-concern;

Feast on compassion.

Fast from suspicion;

Feast on truth.

Fast from gossip;

Feast on purposeful silence.

Fast from problems that overwhelm;

Feast on prayer that sustains.

Fast from anxiety;

Feast on faith.

Amen.

God Bless,
