EXCITING NEWS FROM MRS BURFIELD

Mrs Burfield has finished her current round of treatment and is returning to school next week for the rest of Term 1. She is eager to get back to school and see all of our children and families again. Mrs Burfield will need to take more time off during Term 2 to undergo a procedure to remove the remaining part of the tumor. She would like to thank the parent community for their continued prayers and support of her and the school community during her treatment.

PARENT LIAISON MEETING

Recently, Mrs Woodhouse sent an email to all of the parents who have graciously accepted the role of Parent Liaison for each class for 2023. She would like to meet you next week to go through a couple of ideas for the year, in which we would love your support. If you are able to join us at 5.00pm on Tuesday 14 March  to discuss the role of the parent liaisons and the valuable contribution this role makes to supporting your children and our school, would appreciate if you could attend.

If you did not receive the email and are one of the class parent liaisons, please contact the office.

EMAIL POLICY REMINDER

We would appreciate your continued support regarding changes to communication procedures at St Patrick's. Please email info@stpsutherland.catholic.edu.au if you would like to leave a message for a classroom teacher. If you wish to make an appointment to see a teacher, please contact the office.

MOBILE PHONES AND DEVICES AT SCHOOL

A reminder for all students who bring a mobile phone or other cellular device (eg apple watch) to school to ensure that you have read and returned the mobile device policy acknowledgement that went home to all Year 5 and 6 students prior to any device being brought to school.

Devices are given to class teachers at the start of the day and locked away until dismissal time. Students are NOT PERMITTED to access their device until 3.10pm when the bell goes. If you would like to get a message to your child throughout the day, especially if there are changes to regular afternoon dismissal routines, please call the office to make these changes. Students will not see any message sent to them until after 3.10.

COMPASS RESOURCES FOR PARENTS

Compass is used to communicate to you in many ways. This includes notifications on the news feed, reporting, absences and attendance and setting up conferences. Sydney Catholic Schools have issued a reference guide to assist parents to navigate Compass.

Donations needed of recycled materials obstacle course

We would like to create a space in the school with recycled materials where students with supervision could create an obstacle course.

If you have any of the following items lying around at home that you would like to donate to the school it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Planks for wood - good quality and no nails.
  • Tyres - clean and no wires
  • Pipes
  • Building cut offs
  • Ramps
  • Plastic bins/bins
  • Ropes
  • Large cardboard boxes

We are thinking something like the picture below:

If you could send a photo of the items you would like to donate that would be very helpful and we could let you know if we would need it.  This way we only end up with items we will use and are safe in the school environment.
