Around the College

Book Fair Thank you!

A big thank you to those who helped make Book Week such a success!

So many took part in helping bring it together - both staff and parents alike.

Busselton roundup:

We sold $3833.00 worth of books which gave us $1014.25 to spend on buying new books for our school library.  Thanks Mrs Mapstone for being a key organiser in the event.

This from Mrs Mapstone: 'Thank you to the Book Fair Mum Helpers, who we could not have done without;

Shelly Orchard

Jodie How

Janita Gifford

Pauline Kamchevski

Oddette Blennerhassett

Vicki De Villiers

Megan Fearnley

And the biggest thank you to Mel Harding for being the volunteer Mum coordinator'.  Well done, Busselton.

Dunsborough roundup:

We had a wonderful week celebrating all things books. Our theme for the book fair was "Books, argh the treasure" to fit in with Mr Maynard's word for the year.

A number of Yr 3-Yr 6 students helped Mrs Maynard decorate the library to fit our theme using the new creative space in the activity room.  Mr Bernabe's Yr 5/6 class created posters and photo booths for students to have their photo taken after our Book Character parade. The costumes were fantastic!

We would like to thank all our families for supporting the Book Fair this year. Through their generosity we were able to choose $500 worth of books from Scholastic for the library.

Notice of Student Departure

Last chance to advise us (without penalty) if you won't be returning in 2021.

We recognise that for a variety of reasons, some students may not be returning to us in 2021.  Whether you anticipate a possible relocation, your child is hoping to secure an apprenticeship, or any other reason, we ask that you keep us up-to-date with your plans.  It is a requirement for anyone leaving the College to provide a term's notice - this helps us in our planning, and less than a term's notice does incur a financial penalty equivalent to a term's fees.   So early notification is best for everyone!

With so many families keen to secure a place at Cornerstone next year, and waiting lists existing in many cases, your forewarning also allows us to help others with their planning as well.

If you require a Notification of Departure Form, please contact our Administration team and they will ensure you have the correct documents provided.

COVID-19

With some public events coming up, we want to ensure that we comply with the requirements for public gatherings in this COVID-19 time.

Please ensure that if you will be attending upcoming events (e.g. Open Night!), that:

  • If you are sick (particularly with cold or flu symptoms) - PLEASE STAY HOME.
  • Whilst with us, please practice social distancing.
  • At every opportunity, please utilise the hand sanitiser stations that will be available.

Thanks for your help!
