Marian College – Snapshot of Student Life 1984

 

Here’s a snapshot of Marian College in 1984. 

The Principal was Sister Brigid Arthur. Year 10 was the top of the school and took part in many special activities, including Work Experience, a Year 10 Maths Camp at Lady Northcote Camp in Bacchus Marsh, and St John’s Social held at Mariana Hall with Year 10 students from Christ the King, and Year 9 & 10 students from St John’s.

 

Students could join in different sports – Soccer, Netball, Basketball, Swimming, Softball and Athletics. There was a music program, including a College Band and other activities included Debating, Science Talent Search and the 40 Hour Famine for World Vision

The highlight was Show Day with a Dunking Machine, hot dogs, cake stalls, Mystery Walk, Books, Plants, Trash and Treasure, displays, and Fancy Dress themes of: Storytellers, Story Characters, and Pop Stars.
