Parent – Teacher – Student Conferences
Thank you to all of the families and students who attended our Parent-Teacher-Student
Conferences on Thursday last week. It was great to see such a large number of parents and students discussing learning and strategies to increase progress in Semester 2 and beyond. As we have said before, parent engagement in student learning has a significant positive impact on student progress at all levels. If you were unable to meet with all teachers, we encourage you to contact those teachers.
Moving forward, please continue to check feedback on SEQTA and discuss strategies for
growth with your daughter.
We will also seek feedback from parents about whether families would prefer online or onsite conferences in 2024.
Subject Selection 2024 Update
Our Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 students have now completed their subject selections for 2024.
Students who applied for VCE or VCE VET acceleration studies should receive their notification as to whether their application has been approved, this week. Please note that not all applications have been approved; however, students may request that their application be reconsidered after Semester 2 assessments are completed.
All students should have had a mentoring interview with an assigned mentor teacher. These conversations have been highly productive and we would like to thank the students for their preparation and the thoughtful way that they have approached the mentoring processes this year.
Trial Examinations
We would like to remind all Year 11 and 12 students and families that they are required to complete trial examinations for all scored Unit 3/4 VCE and VCE VET studies during the forthcoming holidays. These examinations are a valuable opportunity for students to practise exam techniques and receive targeted feedback. This feedback should enable students to then hone their preparation and revision before the final VCAA examinations. The trial examinations start on Friday 22 September and finish on Thursday 28 September. The timetable will be published this week.
