Futsal
Our school futsal team is among Australia's best!
Armidale Express article in LINK
The boys competed for 3 days in the Australiasian School Futsal titles against school teams from both public and private schools from NSW, QLD and VIC and return as the 6th best 15s schoolboy futsal team in Australia!
The boys competed with exemplary sportsmanship throughout the entire tournament and were commended by many people during the competition.
Some of the many highlights:
- Lightning quick reactions from ASC keeper Nick Jackson time and time again to deny the opposition goals
- sticking it to the big boys from Melbourne City, losing in the dying minute to go down by a goal
- clinical finish to seal a high scoring win against Bishop Druitt (including a stacking masterclass from Casey Rainger and Stu Parsons
- Ryan Harris's unstoppable first time strike to score a pigeon top right goal from halfway
- teamwork and constant support for each other
Special mention to Ryan Harris who was selected in the top 5 players of the tournament by opposing coaches to be named as part of an Australian All Star 5!
Thank you to Mr Model for his continual support and coaching of this and other futsal teams at school.
So proud of you guys. Well done!
Futsal
A big WOW and well done to Angus Towie who has been travelling in Brazil representing Australia in 15 boys futsal!!
Brilliant achievement Angus!
Mountain Biking
The oxygen tanks were needed as we climbed the notorious Crows Nest 'A' line at the Piney. Such is the altitude change from the bottom to the top!
Not all of us made it to the top, but everyone achieved their individual goal.
"2 Easier gears on approach, stay seated for as long as possible, NEVER stop pedalling!"
More Mountain Biking News
One afternoon last week, before the bushfire smoke rolled in, our Stage 4 mountain bikers made their own tyre smoke out at the UNE Rams Horn A 7 B lines. A few laughs, many attempts, a few failures , but a lot of learning!
"Wheel up, weight forward, PEDAL."
Congratulations on your grit and determination gang.
