Debating
Our Stage 5 debating team are STATE CHAMPIONS!
The stage 5 debating team have methodically argued their way right to the top of the NSW Premier's Debating Challenge ladder.
Our team competed in Sydney against Orange High School in the finals. This was quite remarkable as the last time two regional schools reached the finals was in 1953.
We are very proud of the achievements of Rubi Ainsworth, Fynn Eastwood, Casey Rainger and Ella Vu - and of their teacher, Ms Fiona Smee. This team have worked incredibly hard for many months to achieve this significant accomplishment. Well done again team!

This is a valuable week of learning where the students learn the skills to potentially save a life.
Year 6 Transition
The transition program this year has been a great success. Our staff and students at Armidale Secondary College provided a terrific induction for our eager year 7 kids.
We so enjoyed hosting the year 6 students from the primary schools at our orientation day and we eagerly look forward to seeing you all up here at our school next year.
Fundraising for WIRES
Well done to two year 7 classes who ran a fundraiser for WIRES, raising $200!
They presented the money to WIRES volunteer, Mrs Barker, who is also a teacher at our school.
The money was spent immediately on burn medication for injured local wildlife. Thank and well done again to these students, and to their supporting teacher, Ms Dunsford, for your initiative and generosity.
Boost Club
Recently, during lunch time BOOST held an International Day of Prayer event. Students and teachers brought international food to share, with a focus on India, Sri Lanka and Syria.
A dozen of us sat around a colourfully decorated table for an international feast including lamb biryani, Sri Lankan chicken curry and Syrian falafel. As we ate, students read out stories of the persecuted church from an Open Doors resource, pausing after each story to pray for the country and the individuals involved.
When the end-of-lunch bell rang students walked out with an array of flavours marinating in their mouths, a mix of moving stories resonating in their minds and an Open Doors prayer guide in their hands.
BOOST meets every Monday lunch time in Room 206 and is open for anyone to attend.
Lids for Kids
Our Learning Support team are coordinating an initiative to collect plastic lids to be used as prosthetics for kids.
Thank you to Kmart who have supported us by providing plastic tubs that have been positioned around the school for lid deposits.
White Ribbon Campaign
The White Ribbon Campaign is about breaking the silence regarding domestic violence, and developing and building on positive relationships.
Our enthusiastic year 7 and 8 mural group have finished working in their mural for White Ribbon Day. The mural now stands proud on the wall next to the library in the hub of the school.
Fantastic work team!
Future Leaders Retreat
Congratulations to Year 12 students Lucy Fulloon and Stephanie Hancock on their selection to attend the Griffith University Future Leaders Retreat 2020 on the Gold Coast during the January school holidays.
The girls were selected through an application process initiated by the University. The University was overwhelmed with an incredible amount of high quality applications from schools all over Queensland and Northern NSW. To have both our nominated students selected is a fantastic achievement.
Congratulations Lucy and Steph!

Dog on Duty
Ralf absolutely loves to come to school and hang with the students.
He likes to start of his work day by checking emails and the daily schedule and then don his high vis vest to go and cover playground duty and collect all the cuddles.
Ralf believes that the principals’ office suits his very important role.
