Primary Music Festival

We will be holding the very first St Andrews Christian College Primary Music Festival on Wednesday 22 August 2018. All students from Prep to Year 6 who play a musical instrument or sing are encouraged to enter as a solo performer. Although it is a competitive style festival, the emphasis will be on the fun of taking part and performing for enjoyment, not the winning.

To try and reduce our environmental impact, it has been decided that all entries should be made via an online form. Please use the link provided below.

Year 5-8 MaxiVox

As of Term 3 this year we will be establishing a Middle School singing ensemble called MaxiVox for students in Years 5 – 8. This group of singers will NOT be an auditioned choir.

Rehearsals will start ion Terrm 3 and take place on Thursday mornings at 8.10am in the Music Room. A number of performance opportunities in and out of school are already being planned; these include a joint concert with the City of Frankston Brass Band on Sunday 23 September, and a joint singing workshop day with Belgrave Heights Christian School. Singing in MaxiVox will give our middle school students the opportunity to develop their voice before auditioning for the elite vocal ensembles that attend the Generations in Jazz festival in Mount Gambier every year.

Interested students should return the Commitment Form sent home last week as soon as possible, or see Mrs Metcalfe to get another one if they have misplaced theirs.

Congratulations Gabriel

Gabriel Liu in 2N achieved 3rd place in the Grade 3 and 4 piano section in the Ringwood Eisteddfod at the beginning of June. This is an amazing achievement for a student in Year 2.
