Our Catholic Faith

Through clouds of wonderment, of uncertainty, of anxiety, sometimes,

we hear your voice, O God, proclaiming the presence of Spirit in the midst of our day to day living. We pause and become mindful.

We pause and listen to the voice within and around. We pause and worship the astounding glory of your presence.

For the World, Jesus, Teacher, teach us Teach us to value

Our Earth home and to work to keep her healthy for all generations to come.

Teach us to take the time we need for journeys by car and truck

Teach us to value those who shape the minds and practices of young men and women, boys and girls

Teach us to value the wisdom of the elders in our community, and to listen to the wisdom of children

Great Teacher, create a learning spirit within us

For the Oppressed...

Jesus, Healer, heal with us

Heal those who crave a drug induced high, more drink, or more excitement, with a peace that lasts.

Heal the broken and downtrodden with patience and encouragement

Heal the disappointed and rejected with reassurance of self-worth

Heal those caregivers who confuse their vocation with a job that pays the rent

Holy Healer, bring us healing.

For the Church...

Jesus, Teacher and Healer, teach and heal your church.

Teach our members and friends to accept and thank one another.

Teach us new forms of worship and study.

Teach us how to be just and encourage just practice.

Teach us to accept the questions, the joy, and the enthusiasm of children.

Great Teacher, Holy Healer, inspire us to learn and to heal.

For Ourselves...

Jesus, Teacher and Healer, teach and heal each one of us.

Teach us by your words and in scripture and by the actions of your saints and present day disciples.

Teach us to encourage, to forgive, and to banish despair with hope.

Teach us the power of prayer and meditation.

Heal that part of us that has been scarred by rejection.

Heal our willingness to see the dark side rather than the light.
