COVID-19 Restrictions
Thank you to our school community for supporting our Coronavirus restrictions, being implemented at Miners Rest Primary School.
These are essential in keeping us all safe.
Despite state government announcements, nothing has changed or eased at schools - just yet.
I am asking you all to continue to arrive & depart between your designated times. ARRIVAL Foundation - Year 2 = 8:55-9:10am. Year 3-6 = 8:45-9:00am
DEPARTURE Foundation - Year 2 = 3:10pm. Year 3-6 = 3:20pm
There is no play-time at the beginning or end of the school day.
Children arriving and departing outside these times, must be booked into our OSHC service.
COVID-19 is still prevalent in Victorian communities. We need to continue to safeguard ourselves against a case. In the instance of one case, we are required to close the school and revert to remote learning - incentive enough for all of us to maintain safe habits, I hope.
Kind & Considerate
Please continue to be kind and considerate to ourselves and others. This should not cease as we begin to return to 'normal' life.
I have been alerted to a number of dangerous and inconsiderate actions outside our gates. Parking locations, road use and safe support of students exiting our precinct are being questioned.
Under no circumstances is it okay to park in "no parking" or "keep clear" spaces.
It is not okay to cross roads by running, even with a parent.
If there is a footpath, use it.
Exercise patience on the road and in the car.
Under no circumstances can you pick up or drop off your children in a line of traffic, either in Dundas Street or in the Service Lane.
Your support in being vigilant and excellent role-models for our next generation of road users is essential, please!
Camps & Production
I am currently working through our options with key events for term three.
Our Year 3, 5 & 6 camps are expected to proceed, assuming they have sufficient parental support to be viable - both financially and academically.
Our Year 4 Camp for 2020, was unfortunately cancelled for term two and will not be re-scheduled.
Our Production for 2020, assuming theatres and associated restrictions have been lifted will proceed.
Year 3 parents, there is a short survey to complete by this Friday 19 June, to indicate your intention to attend or not attend the term 3 camp to Cave Hill Creek. The link is below and thank you in advance for your prompt response. The link has also been sent via Sentral email.
Baby News
I'm very pleased to announce the impending birth of Miss Pellegrino's first baby, late this year. Emily & Adam were very excited to share the expectant news with family, friends and colleagues in recent times.
Emily will be still at school for a large majority of the year, but of course we wish them both well!
End of term
Next Friday 26 June is the final day of term 2. The school day concludes at 2:30pm, please be prompt with pick up.
We resume for term 3 on Monday 13 July.
