The 9B Peak Fitness students had their Duathlon on Friday the 18th of November. Unfortunately for this class it could not be a triathlon as it was supposed to be, as the pool had been closed due to Covid and we had only been able to have one swimming session.

Despite this, the students all participated to the best of their ability and they all improved on the running and cycling that they had completed previously.

The students completed a 1.6km run, then an 8km ride and finished with a 1.6km run. The placings for the boys were Jacob Frampton in first place with a winning time of 32 minutes 54 seconds, second place went to Nate Van Eekelen  with a time of 35 minutes and 10 seconds and third place went to Declan Hunt with a time of 36 minutes and 48 seconds. For the girls Paige Dorman was first with a time of 42 minutes and 50 seconds, Grace Harrington was second with a time of 43 minutes and 30 seconds and in third place was Sienna Mallon with a time of 49 minutes and 37 seconds.

Congratulations to those who placed and well done to all the competitors who completed the Duathlon. Thank you to Stuart Rickard and Eliza Cahill for their help all semester and thank you also to Daniel Barnett and Cate McCullagh who assisted on the day.

The 9C Peak class also completed their Duathlon on Friday 26th November. The students braved cool and drizzly conditions to complete the course in an impressive display and physical endurance.

Zara Walker was the first girl to finish in a time of 44min 15sec and was followed by Briea McLachlan (48min 32sec) and Tess Meesen (53min).

Jack Skinner placed first amongst the boys with a time of 37min 10sec and he was closely followed in second place by Jack Wheadon (38min 10sec) with Kyan Genua (39min 30sec) finishing third. Thanks again to Eliza Cahill for assisting along with Sam Moloney and Anne McCrickard.
