Music News at HCC

We are thrilled to share the latest updates from the music department at HCC. This term has been incredibly productive, with students showcasing their musical talents and achieving remarkable milestones.

Our VCE Performance students recently wowed us with their exceptional performances during their Performance SAC. Their dedication and competence were evident, and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments.

Earlier in the term, we had the pleasure of attending the Autumn Concert, where our bands and ensembles delivered captivating performances. The talent and hard work of our students were on full display, and the audience thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Looking ahead, students in Grades 3-6 are eagerly preparing for their upcoming performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Mark your calendars for 13 and 14 September, when these young performers will grace the stage and dazzle us with their rendition of this beloved musical.

We would also like to acknowledge the dedication of our students who receive individual instrumental lessons. Their consistent efforts to develop their musical skills on their chosen instruments are commendable. We extend a special congratulations to Adrian Wang for receiving a High Distinction in his Grade 2 piano exam. Well done, Adrian!

Next term, we have an exciting event planned: the Term 3 Soiree. On Wednesday 26 July at 4.00 pm, the College auditorium will come alive with enchanting melodies performed by our instrumental students. All students who learn an instrument are eligible to participate in this soiree. Our College instrumental staff will be providing further details and discussing this performance opportunity with their students. To register for this event, please email me at jenny.fairweather@hcc.vic.edu.au by Wednesday 19 July.

In addition, our Senior Band is gearing up to participate in the Victorian Schools Music Festival during Term 3. We wish them all the best as they showcase their musical prowess at this prestigious event.

With Term 3 just around the corner, we eagerly anticipate the exciting musical experiences it holds for us. Stay tuned for more updates and be prepared to be amazed by the talent of our HCC musicians
